Iceberg and Polar Differences


General

Both iceberg and polar are 64bit Xeon clusters interconnected by InifiBand with access to the same parallel Lustre filesystems.

Software versions

At times, the systems may be running different versions of the SLES Operating System, SGI ProPack, MPT, ifort, MKL, etc.

Compiler Options

The Intel compiler will generate optimized code for the specified processor and will use a specific Streaming SIMD Extensions (SSE) instruction set. The executable can only be run on the specified processor or later Intel processors.
